Senior Environmental Specialist

Port Authority is seeking a Senior Environmental Specialist to be responsible for managing completion of capital projects within scope, schedule, and budget as well as interfacing with consultants, contractors, and external stakeholder representatives. Responsible to manage, develop, coordinate, and oversee all functions related to Port Authority’s environmental policies, procedures, and programs, including implementation and maintenance of the Authority’s environmental state of good repair program  and compliance with governmental environmental regulations.

Essential Functions:

• Manages the implementation and maintenance of the Authority’s environmental state of good repair program and is accountable/ responsible for the Program. Identifies significant environmental aspects and sets forth objectives, targets, and programs to mitigate impacts.  Develops environmental policies and procedures to achieve Program objectives.   Develops and coordinates environmental training and awareness programs to educate Port Authority employees on its environmental state of good repair program.  Coordinates and facilitates meetings with facility maintenance managers and trainers and reports Program status and activity to Senior Management.
• In support of the environmental state of good repair program, identifies all needs for inclusion on the Authority’s capital plan and performs all project management functions necessary to implement the design, construction ,and closeout of funded capital projects in adherence to established scope, schedule, budget, and quality metrics. Provides guidance and assistance to Port Authority personnel on environmental issues and activities pertaining to all capital projects.
