The Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh proudly announces Bryan Iams as its new Board Chair, succeeding Andrea Clark Smith, Esq., who passed the gavel to Mr. Iams on Thursday, June 27, 2024. The transition took place during a brief ceremony at the Urban League’s annual meeting in the Barco Law Library on the University of Pittsburgh’s campus.
“I am honored to serve as the next Board Chair of the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh and want to thank Andrea Clark Smith, Esq., and the entire board of directors for their support,” said Bryan Iams, Vice President and Chief Communications Officer at PPG. “As a board, we will remain focused on helping Carlos T. Carter and the team at the Urban League to drive the mission forward and build a path of opportunity for all.”
Joining Bryan Iams on the board are Megan Luke, Chief Operating Officer of Retail Distribution and Sales Management at PNC Bank, and Sara Oliver-Carter, Chief Diversity, Equity, Ethics & Inclusion Officer at Carlow University. Both were voted onto the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh Board of Directors effective May 15, 2024.

Megan Luke expressed her enthusiasm about joining the board: “I’m absolutely thrilled to join the Board of Directors for the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh – an innovatively impactful organization in my hometown. As I’ve gotten to know the organization, its values, and leadership team, I’m not only excited for the influence and knowledge share that I can provide, but what the community and organization can teach me and how I can pay that forward. Providing support, resources, and general kindness is what has earned the Urban League’s legacy, and I couldn’t be more eager to be a part of the team that empowers communities and changes lives.”
Bryan Iams reflected on the Urban League’s impact: “The important work of the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh uplifts so many in the Pittsburgh community. I am proud to support the mission and efforts to make this region a place where everyone can thrive.”
Sara Oliver-Carter shared her commitment: “As Carlow University’s Chief Officer for Diversity, Equity, Ethics, and Inclusion, my life and work are dedicated to fostering a strong, diverse community – on and off campus. I am honored to join this dynamic and enthusiastic Board, and I look forward to working together toward the goal of African American empowerment.”
