The Mission of the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh is to enable African Americans and other underserved communities to secure economic self-reliance, parity and power, and civil rights.
The Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh envisions a future where African Americans in the Greater Pittsburgh region are thriving. As part of this vision, we have laid out a framework of collective activism, our Three Ds Campaign
We demand the full restoration of the Voting Rights Act, equitable representation in Congress and state legislatures, and an end to racially based gerrymandering.
We demand diversity, equity, and inclusion—in all aspects of American life.
To address and eliminate racial income and wealth disparities, we will prioritize closing gaps in education, healthcare, housing, and the justice system.
We believe that it is imperative that the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh gathers resources to ensure social, political and economic justice for all Americans.
The Urban League will provide bold leadership, innovative programs and policies to strengthen the region by helping African Americans reach their full potential.
