PITTSBURGH, PA — The Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh successfully concluded its Annual Thanksgiving Distribution on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The event drew hundreds of local families and connected attendees with onsite health and human services through the League’s Health & Human Services Village.
“The generosity of our partners, the commitment of our volunteers, and the trust of the families we serve are the foundation of this event,” said Esther L. Bush, Interim President & CEO of the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh. “We are grateful to everyone who came together to ensure neighbors could enjoy the holiday with dignity.”
The Annual Thanksgiving Distribution brought together community organizations, resource vendors, and volunteers for a full day centered on food assistance, wellness, and community connection. In addition to receiving holiday meal support, attendees engaged with the Urban League’s Health & Human Services Village, where partners provided access to health screenings, preventive care information, and vital social services.
This integrated approach reflects the Urban League’s commitment to meeting families’ immediate needs while connecting them to long-term supports that strengthen overall well-being. The distribution has become one of the region’s most significant community gatherings each year — a space where families can access resources, receive guidance, and experience the collective care of dozens of organizations working together. The event continues to serve as a model of collaboration, dignity, and equity, reaffirming the Urban League’s mission to uplift and empower Pittsburgh residents.
“Our Annual Thanksgiving Distribution is a multicultural event that brings together neighbors from six counties in a shared spirit of service to one another,” said Victoria Goins, Vice President, Programs & Services, Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh.
