The Pitt CTSI Community PARTner’s September 2022 health page and Lunch and Learn session will focus on equitable disaster management, including conversation around climate and environmental disasters and their effects on communities. Focusing on environmental public health, environmentally induced disease, health disparities, environmental health policy, disaster preparedness, public health systems, and community resilience. We will discuss equitable disaster recovery tools and resources that support vulnerable communities. We will highlight other challenges, assets; racial/ethnic disparities, engagement opportunities, and also action steps for folks to take charge of their own health.

Join us on September 8th for the lunch hour discussion with Dr. Maureen Lichtveld, Dean, School of Public Health, Jonas Salk Professor of Population Health, Professor of Environmental and Occupational Health, University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Shannah Tharp Gilliam, Deputy Director for the Area Agency on Aging (DHS-AAA) in the Allegheny County Department of Human Services, and Jerrel T. Gilliam, Executive Director, Light of Like Rescue Mission.
